Two Categories of prizes – Age 10 to 18 years AND Over 18 years

PLEASE READ CONTEST RULES PRIOR TO SUBMISSION
- Participants may submit one entry per person.
- Participants must reside in High River, Blackie or Cayley (proof may be requested).
- File Format – Entries must be double spaced and emailed (or submitted to pharmacy on memory stick) as a Word document (docx) or PDF. Hand written pages. Image files, or direct cloud links (like Google Docs) will be disqualified.
- Word count limited to 1200 words.
- Essay must be completely original. Any entries written using Artificial Intelligence (A.I.) will be disqualified (they will be checked).
- Essays with hate speech, graphic violence or explicit/pornographic content will be disqualified.
- Submission Deadline: Wednesday, July 22, 2026 at 11:59 PM MST.
- Scoring Breakdown:
– Creativity and Originality (40%): Unique plot, fresh perspective, and emotional impact.
– Structure and Pacing (30%): Development, clear flow, and narrative resolution.
– Technical Writing and Style (30%): Proper grammar, spelling, word choice, mechanics. - Copyright and Rights Retention:
– Author Ownership: Author retains full copyright and ownership of their creative property.
– Publication Rights: By entering, contestants grant Bishop’s Crossing Pharmacy non-exclusive rights to publish winning entries on the organization’s website, newsletter, or community newspaper. - Prizes and Finality: Once the prizes are awarded all decisions made by the judges are final and no editorial feedback or scorecards will be distributed.
- Essays must have your name, physical address, contact info and age category on it.
